UCONN-SECURE Network

The following step by step instructions will detail how to configure your computer to run on the UCONN-SECURE wireless network using Mac OSX.4
- Change your NetID password at http://netid.uconn.edu from a wired connection.
Note:- If you have changed your NetID later than March 4, 2008 then you do not have to perform this step.
- This will change your password for ALL applications that use NetID such as your Exchange/Huskymail account and HuskyCT
- Click on the Apple icon which is located at the top left corner of your screen and choose System Pereferences.
- Click on the Network icon.
- The Network screen will appear.
- Location: Automatic
- Show: AirPort
- By default, join: Preferred Networks
- Click on the "+" icon.
- The Network dialogue box will appear.

- Select WPA2 Enterprise to bring up the following dialogue box.
- Network Name: UCONN-SECURE
- Wireless Security: WPA2 Enterprise should be selected.
- User Name: Type in your NETID.
- Password: Type in your NETID password.
- 802.1X Configuration: Should be set for Automatic.
- Click OK to authenticate.
- Since this is your first time connecting to the UCONN-SECURE wireless network, a Verify Certificate window will open. Click on Show Certificate.
- In this window, verify that the certificate is issued to either ender.uits.uconn.edu or bean.uits.uconn.edu. Always trust these certificates should be checked. Click on the Trust arrow to open a drop down menu.
- The Verify Certificate window pops up.
- When using this certificate: Always Trust
- Extensible Authentication (EAP): Always Trust
- X.590 – Basic Policy: Always Trust
- Click Continue.
- Go to a UITS supported wireless location.
- A dialogue box will pop up and ask for local machine credentials.
- Name: Local administrative account
- Password: Local administrative password



Congratulations! After a few moments you will be connected to the UCONN-SECURE wireless network.
